Loved Priyanka Chopra’s Wedding Lehenga? Here’s What Went Into Its Making – WATCH VIDEO
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ grand wedding was nothing short of a fairytale. From the grand palace to the elaborate costumes, every aspect of the ceremony was magnificent. While the couple was dressed by Ralph Lauren for their white wedding (December 1), Sabyasachi was the designer behind the duo’s Hindu wedding (December 2). The actress’ Kanauj rose lehenga was splendid and it was evident that a lot of work went behind making it.

In fact, soon after the first pictures of the couple were released, Sabyasachi took to social media to describe the outfit and wrote, “Priyanka Chopra @priyankachopra makes for a stunning bride in a custom red Sabyasachi lehenga. Hand-embroidered and hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss, delicate Siam-red crystals and layer upon layer of threadwork embroidery creates this piece of impossible couture. 110 embroiderers from Calcutta, India took 3720 hours to create this modern masterpiece.

As an ode to the resplendence of Mughal jewellery, her wedding jewellery was crafted with uncut diamonds, emeralds and Japanese cultured pearls in 22 karat gold and had delicate tiny stars in uncut diamonds to give a sense of whimsy to an important traditional piece.”

Now, the designer has released a video which showcases what went into creating Priyanka’s lehenga. It also gives us a glimpse of the actress’ jewellery and mangalsutra. The clip is proof that it indeed was a laborious process to put the wedding ensemble together.

Speaking of her recently concluded wedding in Jodhpur, the official wedding album was first shared by People magazine. In an interview with the glossy, the actress had said, “It was all tears. All tears. I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened, and I saw his face it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.”
